Tattoo aftercare Congratulations on your new tattoo. After one hour remove the bandage that your Tattoo Artist has placed over your fresh tattoo and thoroughly wash to remove any cream and dried blood that remains. Pat dry. Do not rub otherwise you may start bleeding again. Once thoroughly dry you may start to apply a moisturiser. Only use what you know is suitable for your skin or what your Tattooist recommended. Moisturise at least 3-4 times per day to prevent your new tattoo from drying out. After about a week you will lose the scabbing and your new tattoo will look shiny. This is layer of new skin that has formed. You must carry on moisturising regularly if you wish to keep it in good condition.. We recommend 'Bepanthen' a nappy rash cream available from your chemist. If you are unsure about anything to do with your tattoo aftercare give us a ring or pop into our studio. |
Piercing Aftercare Congratulations on your new piercing. Here at Gecko Images we recommend two different solutions.
1. Sea Salt - Available from most supermarkets. It must be diluted in boiling water. 2. Savlon Antiseptic Wound Wash - Available from most supermarkets and chemists. You must wash your hands before touching your piercing! Depending on your piercing you will be told how best to care for it by your piercer. With most piercing it is a simple matter of cleaning 3-4 times a day. You will be shown by the piercer how best to do this. If you have not been shown or are unsure please feel free to pop in or telephone us and ask for our advice. If you neglect your piercing or mistreat it there may be a tendency for it to migrate, also known as rejection. Do’s and don’ts Avoid swimming pools as they are a contagious area and as such you are at risk from infection. (Minimum 20 wks)Sun beds are also a danger to your piercing due to the ultra violet rays which will heat the bar/ring and irritate it.Don’t play with it or touch with unwashed hands.Do check threaded jewellery daily to make sure it is tight. If you attend hospital for scans or x-rays please inform the nursing staff that you have peircings. If you have any queries about your piercing we are here to help. Just ring us or pop into the studio. | |
